Non-Permanent seminars

Seminars dedicated to the non-permanent staff is an old tradition at the Néel Institute.

The Non-Permanent seminars are monthly seminars, organized by non-permanent people, for non-permanent people. These are dedicated to trainees, PhD students and post-docs who are part of the Néel Institute or other laboratories.

Each session can consist of two presentations of twenty minutes each, or a single longer one. Of particular importance is to remark the presence of a buffet at the end of the presentation.

The purpose of these seminars is to encourage interaction between members of the non-permanent staff and to provide the opportunity to discuss tasks and problems in an unconstrained environment with people at a similar point in their career.

These seminars are an excellent opportunity to improve knowledge beyond own specialization, but they also allow speakers to prepare conferences or simply to present their work to a friendly audience.

Furthermore, the organizers are currently working on the possibility of dedicating some presentation to the professional life after the PhD or a post-doc. These seminars will for example provide information about the application process for post-doc positions at the CNRS, for positions as a lecturer or jobs in the industry. For this purpose researchers of the CNRS, the university and the industry will be invited.

Remaining seminars before summer holiday:

March 14th, room D420
April 11th, room K223
