What to do before your arrival in France

Before your arrival, the Néel Institute will get in touch with you to help with adminsitrative formalities. A detailed explanation about what to do is available on the Institute website, here. You can also find comprehensive information as an incoming PhD student or researcher on the site of the universitiy’s international office. There you will also find information related to visas, accomdation, healthcare, mandatory insurances etc.

Below, we sum up some information specific to non-permanent staff at Institut Néel.

Essential documents

Before coming to France, collect all these documents :

  • ID / Passport
  • Health record (in particular your vaccination record)
  • Diploma and other certificates
  • Driver license
  • Hosting agreement

Contacts

The University can help you through its ISSO service (International Students and Scholars Office), located on the UGA campus at Saint-Martin-d’Hères. If you register there as an invited researcher, they can help you with health formalities, bank account, transport, integration, … or any question you may have. You will find more details here.
